On to bigger things...

After months of hesitation the scorpion is getting more paint. I also need him for this crazy ass jungle mission tomorrow (Defiler).

Speaking of the mission there was a small modifcation to the rules. All forest is considered dense and is infinitely high for purposes of LOS and vehicles (Skimmers can't hover over).

My list is ready. As stated in the earlier post, I am taking as many walkers as I have. The block LoS rules will negate any dreadnought fire frenzy rolls so ether they're running or sane. HQ choices pretty much suck for CSM and this mission. I'm leaving the princes at home for once. I expect one of my nurgle squads to hold their own while an HQ plants the beacon. Since this will be a combat oriented game, I added a little fun to the list with two Khorne lords.

Such a sweet model. Will you be painting it in the generic Khorne red and bronze?

I'm stickiing with the rest of my army's grey tone colors. I think the only models that arn't are the god specific troops like plague marines and berserkers.

A small change to the list. Swapped out the bloodfeeder with a slaanesh lord and blissgiver. I feel to best maximize battle points, I will have to hunt down those HQs. Blissgiver is good at that. I also just relised the importance of kharn and the original mission posting. I suppose he is the TRUE Predator of the jungle...

The mission was a success for me. I scored 130 points with a win. Abaddon decided to show his face against me. Sadly the most he killed was a dreadnought. He's still an infantry model with only a 4+ inv save. Dreads and powerfists took him down very fast. And his berserker retinue was tarpitted with the same dreads. There was no powerfist in the squad. After adding up all the battle points

I am current in second place with one mission to go. The player in 1st has an all or nothing game next round. He has to win to place first. The two under him including myself will acheive a win regardless to bump him down if he loses. The final match will bet 2250 points So my matchups will be one of the following.

IG, Me=Second place
Orks=First

Me vs Orks.
If I win that game, I automatically place first beating the first player slot and based on battle points. I would feel confident in this match-up with my CSM. Orks are scarry as hell, but at 2250, it's probably going to become a dirty double lash list with a lot of autocannons and ordnance. In the past, my CSM have always outcombated orks with good tactical decions. Not to mention there will be two princes and a greater daemon on the table.

Or

Me vs IG.
Both of us would be fighting for second place assuming the Ork player wins his last match. If he loses that match, then this matchup would be fighting for first place. I feel less confident if I end up with this match. At 2250, it allows the IG player to start maxing out tanks as full squadrons. I would highly expect to see Hellstrikes, Hydras and full blown Russ Destroyers? (Plasma loadouts)

The most difficult roadblock against both players is at 1850, my CSM has already maxed out HQ, Elites and heavy support. Fast attack is just suck which leaves me with mass troops (3 remaining slots) That leaves me with 400 points to play with. Chances are, I'll end up loading on some 20-man lesser daemon squads. I have enough models to field 60. I can easily get 40 from 1850 to 2250 with minimal composiition modifications.

At the end of the day, the ork player has to lose his game regardless in order for me to place first.
